Description Position purpose We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic professional to join our Admissions team as the Assistant Director. This position will assist the department in coordinating invitational programs, communication with the high school and community-based organization (CBO) communities. Admissions recruitment, counseling, outreach, presentations and application review are all significant functions of this position.Major Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks As the Assistant Director, your primary responsibilities will include:Student Outreach/Recruitment
- Collaborate with high schools to establish and nurture partnerships that facilitate the recruitment of prospective students interested in STEM programs at Vaughn College.
- Organize and participate in outreach events, including career fairs, information sessions, and campus tours, to attract and engage potential STEM students.
- Maintain regular communication with high school counselors, educators, and prospective students, providing accurate information about Vaughn College's STEM programs and admission requirements.
- Assist students in setting and achieving academic and career goals, ensuring a seamless transition from high school to higher education.
- Deliver informative presentations to students, faculty, and staff at community colleges, highlighting the benefits of enrolling in Vaughn.
- Review student applications and make admissions decisions.
Program Assessment
- Continuously assess the effectiveness of advising strategies and initiatives, making data-driven recommendations for improvement.
- Monitor cohort progress and outcomes to identify areas for enhancement.
- Complete and provide a monthly time and effort activity report to the grant team.

Work environment and physical functions This position requires travel to off campus locations and to load and transport admissions materials, displays and other equipment with their own vehicle.
