The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Keck School of Medicine seeks an Assistant Director of Violence Prevention for Relationship and Sexual Violence Prevention and Services (RSVP). This role is within USC Student Health / Counseling and Mental Health (CMH) and involves leading a multidisciplinary team dedicated to providing trauma-informed clinical treatment, training, advocacy, prevention, and outreach services related to gender-based harm and sexual violence. Position Description [Purpose and Scope]

The Assistant Director of Violence Prevention will oversee violence prevention and outreach initiatives within the RSVP unit. Responsibilities include providing leadership to the violence prevention team, managing collaborations and grants, and developing programs to increase awareness and promote healthy attitudes and behaviors regarding gender-based violence. This encompasses prevention workshops, outreach activities, and partnerships across campus and with external organizations.

Position Details

This is a full-time faculty position with an appointment in the Department of Psychiatry and the Behavioral Sciences at the Keck School of Medicine. The role includes clinical service responsibilities as the Assistant Director of Violence Prevention in RSVP. Compensation is competitive, with benefits including health insurance, retirement contributions, tuition assistance, paid leave, and access to continuing education. The position offers a hybrid schedule of virtual and in-person work, but is not fully remote.

USC Student Health offers comprehensive health programs, including mental health services, medical services, and health promotion. CMH provides various mental health services such as counseling, crisis intervention, psychiatric evaluations, and outreach.

RSVP Overview

RSVP is a resource center for gender-based harm, providing crisis intervention, clinical services, educational programming, and advocacy. It employs a multi-tiered approach based on the Social-Ecological Model, focusing on community awareness, survivor support, and prevention.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the violence prevention team and collaborate with advocacy and clinical services.
• Develop and deliver trauma-informed curricula on consent and healthy relationships.
• Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness and represent USC and RSVP externally.
• Coordinate outreach, campaigns, and stakeholder engagement.
• Ensure program compliance and oversee operations in the absence of the Director.

Qualifications

Minimum: Master's or higher in relevant fields, multicultural competency, excellent communication, 1-2 years of program coordination, advocacy training, supervision experience.

Preferred: 3-4 years in violence prevention, survivor services, clinical or crisis intervention experience, curriculum development skills, resilience, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
