Job Summary

The Division of Student Affairs is dedicated to fostering student success by providing educational opportunities, resources, and support to help students reach their academic and personal goals. Position Overview

The Assistant Director will lead initiatives in community engagement, curriculum development, social action, and leadership for CU Boulder students. This role involves managing programs, supervising staff and student leaders, developing partnerships, and promoting a culture of service, civic engagement, and social justice. The position reports to the Director of Service Learning and Impact in Community Engagement.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and oversee service-learning programs, experiential learning, and leadership initiatives.
  • Mentor student staff and leaders, fostering their growth.
  • Build relationships with faculty and community partners to integrate service learning into curricula.
  • Assess and measure the impact of programs and initiatives.
  • Manage program operations, supervise staff, and develop strategic partnerships.
  • Lead experiential service learning trips, including recruitment, training, and risk management.
  • Develop curriculum and training for service learning and community engagement.
  • Manage budgets and ensure responsible resource allocation.
  • Support campus-wide service learning and civic engagement initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in education, community engagement, service learning, or related field.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in service-learning.
  • Experience in curriculum development, program planning, and leading service trips.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Dedication to social justice, diversity, and inclusion.
Additional Requirements
  • Experience with digital tools, project management, and social media.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
Compensation and Benefits

Starting salary: $70,000-$73,500. Benefits include medical, dental, retirement, paid time off, tuition benefits, and ECO Pass.
