Assistant Director of Public Safety - Teachers College Columbia University : Job Details

This Public Safety. Assistant Director position serves as the shift Watch Commander on the overnight shift, with the occasional coverage as needed, on the day and afternoon shifts, including on weekends and holidays. The incumbents also manage department-wide collateral duties including but not limited to Scheduling and Payroll, Training, Clery Act and other Compliance related tasks, assisting with Crisis Management and/or Business Continuity Plans, coordinating Crime Prevention Services, participating in campus-wide committees and working groups, and other duties as assigned. The position reports to a Director(s) of Public Safety. CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Plans and directs all daily activities of uniformed Public Safety Officers (Lieutenants, Sergeants, and Officers). Assigns posts, duties, and responsibilities of staff members. Review all staff member-generated or related control documents, forms, logs, and reports. Manages the patrols of buildings and perimeter.
