Assistant Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations – Location: Long Island University – University Advancement. Job Type: Full-Time. Reports To: Vice President for University Advancement. The position is based locally on the LIU Post and/or Brooklyn campuses. LIU is seeking a creative and energetic Assistant Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations to lead private foundations and corporate engagement efforts. This individual will cultivate and manage a portfolio of private foundations and corporations for high-impact partnerships, grants, multi-year gifts, and sponsorships that align with the university's mission and strategic goals. The ideal candidate will bring creativity, relationship-building expertise, and a proven track record of writing successful grants and securing corporate support.

Responsibilities
- Maintain a portfolio of 100-125 organizational prospects for gifts, grants, and sponsorships.
- Engage in an active calendar of calls, visits, and solicitations with top prospects with a goal of 20 visits per month; aim to raise at least $1-2M annually.
- Lead in cultivating and managing relationships with foundation program officers and C-suite business leaders whose giving priorities align with the university.
- Engage and network through industry events and with influential alumni and non-alumni to gain introductions to potential funders.
- Ensure integration with the campus strategic plan; coordinate with campus colleagues to locate and use resources to meet development goals.
- Develop proposals, presentations, and promotional materials to advance university needs and educate donors about LIU's trajectory at the $25,000+ level.
- Create customized sponsorship packages offering brand visibility, employee engagement, and community impact for signature and new events.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align corporate support with university priorities, including academic programs, student success, and campus events.
- Prepare compelling proposals, presentations, and stewardship reports for foundation and corporate audiences.
- Represent LIU at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities.
- Monitor and report on partnership performance, donor engagement, and giving trends.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate and/or foundation relations fundraising, sponsorship development, grant writing, and grants management.
- Demonstrated success in securing five- and six-figure grants.
- Strong understanding of the private foundation community in the Tri-State area and national funders.
- Strong understanding of corporate social responsibility, marketing, and brand alignment.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate across departments.
- Proficiency in CRM systems and fundraising databases.
