Position descriptionThe University of California, Irvine is accepting applications for an assistant director to support the Center for Complex and Active Materials (CCAM), funded by the NSF. The UCI MRSEC focuses on multidisciplinary research in materials science and engineering, experiential learning, and diversity. The Center aims to develop advanced materials for defense and healthcare, training future leaders and fostering collaborations with industry and labs. For details, visit CCAM website.
The Assistant Director will handle administrative duties, support research and outreach activities, track progress, assist in communication, organize reports, monitor policies, process expenditures, coordinate personnel matters, and ensure deadlines are met.
Requirements include a PhD in materials science, physics, or chemistry, with research experience. Strong communication and scientific writing skills are essential. Preference for candidates with experience in synthesis, characterization, or modeling of complex materials. Applicants should upload a cover letter, CV, and provide three references.
