Job Summary:

The Assistant Director for the Stevens Service Learning Center serves as the central point of contact for all education related partnerships and programming done by the Stevens Center. Inthis role, the Assistant Director of the Stevens Service Learning Center serves as the coordinator for the Merrimack STEM Pathways for Youth (MSPY) Program and oversees educational servicelearning placements.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develops, coordinates and manages all aspects of the Stevens Center's external educational programming including the Merrimack STEM Pathways for Youth (MSPY) Program.
  • Recruits, supervises and evaluates Merrimack students who participate in the Merrimack STEM Pathways for Youth (MSPY) Program and other Stevens Center's external educational programming.
  • In collaboration with office colleagues assists in all aspects of service learning projects on campus, including managing relationships with students and faculty, assisting with site placements, arranging transportation, communicating with site supervisors, collecting evaluations and other semester end reports.
  • Coordinates and oversees end of semester events that provide recognition for Merrimack service learning participants and community partners.
  • Assist with the hiring, training and management of student employees.
  • Work in collaboration with the other members of the Stevens Center on office programming, reporting and daily operations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned in support of the Austin Scholar Program and the Division of Mission & Ministry.

Qualifications:

  • Valid driver's license.
  • Proven record of accomplishment of establishing and maintaining successful relationships within an organization and with its external partners.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in prioritizing tasks and duties.
  • Ability to be self-directed and act collaboratively in order to achieve departmental and institutional goals.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, faculty, staff, administrators and community partners.
  • Familiarity with Google Suites.
  • 1-3 years of work experience, working in higher education or a related education field.
  • Experience with program implementation and evaluation.
  • Experience with initiating new partnership opportunities and developing curriculum.
