Principal Responsibilities:
Administrative Services Manager: Provides efficient and effective delivery and integration of administrative services (academic, financial, research, and/or clinical). Serves as the unit's point of contact to/from service providers (e.g., Facilities, HR, IT, Procurement, Student Services, Faculty Affairs), ensuring communication of unit needs and taking necessary actions. Monitors service adequacy and escalates issues to the LA.Financial Analyst & Manager: Collaborates with the LA to develop financial plans, providing analysis and reporting to monitor resource application. Oversees daily financial operations, supports financial inquiries from leadership, and recommends resource deployment strategies. Prepares budgets with analysis and quality control, and addresses funding challenges and opportunities.Risk Manager: Implements internal controls to ensure effective resource use, accurate financial information, and compliance with policies and regulations. Addresses issues proactively, ensures staff awareness of regulations, and escalates concerns appropriately.University Citizen: Connects the unit with the broader university through communication, alignment, and engagement. Represents unit needs at university levels, enhances the unit's image, and shares best practices.Talent Manager and Developer: Implements practices to attract, retain, and develop high-quality personnel. Collaborates with HR on recruitment, performance management, and career development. Assesses staffing needs and promotes diversity.Strategic Resource: Partners with the LA and leadership to shape priorities, support strategic planning, and translate strategy into actions. Recommends necessary resources and identifies potential issues affecting the unit's mission.Performs other duties as assigned.Required Skills/Abilities:
Experience supporting complex strategic planning, with success in healthcare operations and data analysis using EHR systems (Epic, Cerner) and tools (SQL, Tableau, SAS, R, Python).Management experience, organizational skills, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities. Capable of leading teams decisively.Ability to translate complex data into insights for non-technical stakeholders. Attention to detail and quality assurance skills. Leadership and influencing skills.Ability to inspire performance, develop relationships, and work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and leadership. Self-motivated and proactive.Effective time and resource management, proficiency with database management, and Microsoft Office Suite.Preferred Education and Experience:
- MBA, master's in healthcare administration, or equivalent.
- Experience in large academic medical centers or practices.
- Financial skills including budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
- Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree and five years of related experience with leadership or supervisory roles, or equivalent education and experience.
