Assistant Director, Advising, Career, and Transfer Services - Harford Community College : Job Details

Harford Community College is seeking a collaborative and student-focused professional to join our Advising, Career, and Transfer Services team! The Assistant Director will work closely with leadership to manage staff, coordinate advising and career development initiatives, and support student success through transfer and career readiness programming.

What You'll Do:

• Lead and support a team of advisors through hiring, training, goal-setting, and performance evaluations.
• Partner with division deans and faculty to communicate important transfer and career information.
• Oversee advising, career, and transfer workshops and events, ensuring student learning and satisfaction.
• Provide data and reports on student advising, completion, and outcomes.
• Coordinate group advising sessions and troubleshoot advising concerns.
• Serve as a resource on best practices in advising, transfer, and career development.
• Stay current with leading assessments, tools, and technology to enhance student success.

Required Qualifications:

• Master's degree or higher.
• At least 3 years of related student advising experience.
• At least 1 year of supervisory experience.
• Knowledge of DegreeWorks, Banner, BrightSpace
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to leverage technology for academic advising, career services, and student development.
