The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Director of Administration, the Assistant Director is responsible for the day to day operational and financial activities and other processes related to the Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation including all aspects of accounts receivable, accounts payable and purchasing functions of the School are compliant with University and School policies.

Responsibilities

* The Assistant Director is responsible for the day to day operational and financial activities and other processes related to the Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation including all aspects of accounts receivable, accounts payable and purchasing functions of the School are compliant with University and School policies. (30%)

* Works closely with the Director of Administration, the incumbent will establish and maintain control systems that ensure transactions are properly recorded and accounted for to permit the preparation of reliable financial statements and demonstrate compliance with the United States and local regulations. The incumbent serves as liaison between various University Offices including General Counsel, Human Resources Processing Center (HRPC), Provost's Office, Controller's Office, Treasurer's Office, Office of Alumni Development (OAD), Accounts Payable and Purchasing. (20%)

* The incumbent researches and reconciles discrepancies and disagreements between outside vendors, faculty, staff and students regarding the status of their accounts. This includes interpreting vendor financial statements, university-produced payment reports, and local entity financial records to facilitate the resolution of problems and maintain constructive working relationships. (20%)

* Responsible for the reconciliation of GSAPP internal records and University financial systems as well as the distribution of routine financial reports (e.g. monthly reconciliation reports) and non-routine analyses. (20%)

* Performs other duties as assigned. (10%)

Minimum Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree or its equivalent required. Minimum 3-5 years related experience required, preferably in financial planning or accounting. Excellent oral and written communication skills are necessary.

* Strong computer proficiency (Microsoft Word and Excel), including an in-depth knowledge of spreadsheet packages and familiarity with database design required.

* Attention to detail, plus the ability to prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines are required. The ability to function independently and to exercise discretion and judgment in sensitive and confidential matters required.

Preferred Qualifications

* Knowledge of University systems is preferred.
