The Assistant Dean must have strong conflict resolution and investigative skills, an interest in educating others about integrity, and a desire to help guide Stanford students, staff, and faculty going through the University's student conduct process.
The Office of Community Standards administers the student and group conduct processes. Outstanding judgment, advanced problem-solving, critical thinking, investigative skills, attention to detail, excellent teamwork, and a sharp mind are essential to this role. The Assistant Dean will, among other duties, investigate individual student and group conduct matters involving alleged violations of the Honor Code, Fundamental Standard, or other University policies.
The Fundamental Standard sets the University's standard of conduct for individual students and groups. The Honor Code articulates University expectations in establishing and maintaining the highest standards in academic work. The Assistant Dean recruits and trains student, faculty and staff volunteer, conducts outreach and education about academic integrity and student behavior in the Stanford community, and fulfills other duties as delegated by the Associate Dean of Students and Director of the Office of Community Standards.
The Assistant Dean of Students in the Office of Community Standards will administer, implement, and interpret university policies and procedures; identify, clarify, and resolve highly visible or complex issues with substantial significance and impact that may span multiple areas, using expert technical and professional knowledge requiring independent judgment.
Under the direction of the Director of the Office of Community Standards, the Assistant Dean will perform a variety of duties as part of the student conduct process and work with campus offices and partners to support a culture of accountability and integrity at Stanford. The Assistant Dean will foster student personal accountability in both group conduct and student conduct cases. The Assistant Dean will also help educate and support students and student groups such that they learn and develop as an outcome of the conduct process. The Assistant Dean will assess and implement policies, systems, and processes related to individual student and group conduct, and act as a core member of the team who will be called upon to manage, resolve, and prepare cases for panels.

The expected pay range for this position is $105,087 - $110,000 per annum.
