Overview

Rowan University seeks an Assistant Dean for Undergraduate Studies in the Henry M. Rowan College of Engineering to provide strategic and operational leadership for enhancing student learning, retention and success, and to oversee academic policies and procedures within the college. This role collaborates with the Dean's offices, Department Chairs/Heads, Program Coordinators, academic departments, faculty, and other offices to ensure mutually beneficial relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee undergraduate student affairs, including student registration, course scheduling, and student standing (e.g., probation and suspension).
  • Maintain and manage academic partnership programs with external constituents; collaborate with the School of Professional Studies on 2+2 and 3+1 partnerships as necessary.
  • Manage Community College Partnerships; liaise with engineering departments, community colleges, and the School of Professional Studies.
  • Oversee the academic advising system to ensure students receive accurate and timely guidance on curriculum, degree requirements, and academic planning.
  • Coordinate and implement processes in support of academic matters and student services for the College.
  • Serve as liaison with the Academic & Career Exploration (ACE) Center to ensure consistency with university policies, standards, and initiatives.
  • Guide program advisors and liaise with ACE to ensure quality and consistency in advising; meet regularly with the advising team to communicate curricular changes and new programs.
  • Review historical enrollment trends and projected admissions for course planning purposes.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree required.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • In-depth understanding of engineering program curricula.
  • Proficiency with software tools used in student services (registration, scheduling, academic advising).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in student advising.

Desired Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience interacting with external constituents in partnership programs.

Salary & Benefits

Base salary range: $100,000 to $130,000. Rowan University offers a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, retirement benefits, paid time off, and tuition reimbursement for eligible employees and dependents, as allowed by policy.

All positions are contingent upon budget appropriations. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the US; the university will not sponsor work visas for this position.
