Role Description

HDR is looking for a Datacenter Assistant Project Manager with experience in client development and delivery of datacenter projects. The ideal candidate should have a background in successfully delivering projects, including upfront planning, pre-design activities, detail design, construction support, or commissioning. This person will work under the direction of experienced Project Managers to manage multi-disciplinary design teams to deliver quality projects from conception to completion.

This position offers an opportunity to join one of the largest, fastest-growing, and most comprehensive TMT (Tech, Media, and Telecom) practices in the industry. Besides managing and delivering projects, the successful candidate must possess the drive, experience, and charisma to develop and secure work from a robust global client base and expand HDR's reputation within these markets. Strong organizational skills and follow-through are essential. Some travel to client sites or other HDR offices is required.

In the role of Assistant Data Center Project Manager, you'll:
  • Coordinate work of single or multi-discipline teams throughout the project's life cycle (from development and initiation to close-out), under supervision of a Project Manager
  • Manage aspects of small projects or specific components of larger projects
  • Coordinate workload through project execution, ensuring deliverables are on budget and schedule
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager, Accounting, Operational, and Business leadership for periodic reviews
  • Perform other duties as needed
Preferred Qualifications
  • Preference for local candidates
  • Minimum of 5 years related experience in site programming, project planning, design, construction, and/or commissioning
  • Professional Engineer (PE) or Registered Architect (RA) certification
  • PMP certification
  • Working knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, BIM360 Docs, BIM360 Field, and Bluebeam
  • Experience with MS Office and MS Project; Access experience is a plus
  • Proficiency with Google communication tools (Drive, Chat, Docs, Sheets, Slides)
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary teams of Architects, Engineers, and Designers
  • Availability to travel locally (~50%) and regionally as needed
  • Ability or willingness to become proficient in Revit
  • Experience in Healthcare, Data Center, Science and Technology, or Mission Critical facilities

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field

  • Excellent organizational, project management, and communication skills (both written and verbal)
