Assistant Controller

Position Overview

In this Assistant Controller role (this role is a hybrid mix of an Accountant and Financial Analyst position) you will support our TRACCO manufacturing facility in Owensboro, KY. This position will assist with the reporting and planning for TRACCO s financial and accounting activities. Responsibilities will include budget management, month-end reporting, and price and promotional guidance. In addition, you will conduct analyses to support sales, payroll, and plant metrics and provide governance reporting. This is also a customer-facing role where you must be able to establish positive working relationships, understand customer needs and provide key deliverables.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Utilize data analysis tools and techniques to assess plant performance, identify areas for improvement, and optimize efficiency strategies.
• Perform financial modeling by analyzing large data sets and deliver business insights and recommendations for leadership.
• Prepare, analyze, and present accurate and timely monthly financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and variance analysis.
• Develop and maintain annual budgets and financial forecasts, collaborating with department heads to ensure alignment with business objectives.
• Conduct in-depth financial analysis, including cost analysis, pricing strategies, and ROI assessments, to support decision-making and improve profitability.
• Recommend pricing changes based on ongoing data analysis and review key customer pricing changes with executive leadership team.
• Partner with the organization to provide costing/margin perspective for appropriate pricing decisions.
• Provide insights on achievement of plant key performance metrics with a strong focus on cost reduction and improved operating efficiencies.
• Provide analytical support with respect to projects including capital appropriations- new product development- and plant utilization/capacity/asset management issues.

Qualifications

• 5+ years strong financial analysis, cost accounting, or general accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Bachelor s degree in finance or accounting.
• Critical customer facing role, must be able to establish positive working relationships, understanding customer needs and provide deliverables. This role will present monthly financial reporting to customer and our senior management team.
• Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize multiple priorities and strong attention to detail.
• Computer skills including MS Office programs such as Outlook, Word, Excel PowerPoint.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate (verbal/writing) effectively.
• Self-motivated and strong analytical / problem solving skills.
• Ability to collaborate at all levels of the organization and across other functional areas.
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
