Creighton University School of Law is seeking a non-tenured clinical professor/staff attorney to direct the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Legal Clinic (IELC), serving the North and South Omaha communities. This fully grant-funded position will be a yearly renewable contract during the grant period. The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of the Clinic, which provides live-client experiential learning divided into course and clinical components, teaching students the skills necessary for ethical, effective legal representation of new and expanding businesses.

The Clinic will include workshops, informational meetings, and possibly pro bono opportunities to attract student interest and create a pipeline for enrollment. The Dean and Associate Dean for Academic Affairs will work with the clinical professor/staff attorney to assess the program and its outcomes.

Located at Creighton Universitys vibrant urban campus near downtown Omaha, the Law School is home to the Omaha Bar Association, the Werner Institute for Dispute Resolution, and several offices of the Nebraska State Bar Association. The university is an R-2 Carnegie-classified institution with approximately 9,000 students and a $750 million endowment, and is a member of the Big East Conference.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • J.D. or equivalent terminal degree
  • Licensed to practice in Nebraska or eligible for prompt admission to the Bar
  • Experience supporting entrepreneurs and startups (forming entities, IP rights, financing, basic accounting)
  • Strong academic profile
  • Potential as a teacher
