Job Description :
The purpose of this position is to provide administrative support for the City Clerk's Office and assist the City Clerk as a records keeper. This is accomplished by transcribing council meeting minutes, assisting in the maintenance of documents in the vault, assisting the public and other departments requesting copies of City documents, notarizing documents, distributing City Code Supplements, preparing for meetings, processing documents, opening and distributing mail, contacting customers, and filing paperwork. Other duties as assigned by the City Clerk. Typical Tasks Creates, indexes, and maintains minutes of City Council meetings by typing minutes from audio tapes, following approval from Council, distributes copies to departments, assigns numbers to adopted ordinances, indexes ordinances, sends copies to the State, and maintains the original Minute Book.
