Assistant Chief Engineer of Utilities-Immediate Opportunity Join Our Team as an Assistant Chief Engineer of Utilities at the Hebrew Home at Riverdale! The Hebrew Home at Riverdale serves over 18,000 frail and disabled individuals, empowering them to live independently in their homes for as long as possible. The purpose of this position is to provide professional maintenance to the electrical infrastructure of the facility and to ensure the continuous functionality of all life safety systems and critical buildings' systems that require electrical power to operate uninterrupted, while supporting the business of the organization. In addition, the employee is responsible for coordinating work with the utilities providers and managing work performed by contracted licensed electrical companies, certified fire alarm companies, and other vendors that provide services related to, but not limited to, the electrical infrastructure of the facility. The employee works closely with project managers, contractors, engineers, and other trades to ensure electrical systems integrate with other building systems. Supervises all engineering staff to ensure the correct operational procedures of the physical plant, emergency electrical generators, and co-generation plant. The employee also performs electrical repairs throughout the facility in compliance with electrical codes and safety standards. Qualifications:
- Requires a minimum of 5 years of work experience as an electrician, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Extensive knowledge of electrical systems with strong troubleshooting abilities.
- A high school diploma or equivalency and a technical school diploma are required.
- Computer literacy with CMMS, BAS, and Microsoft Office applications is required.
