Position / Title: Assistant Chief Engineer

Paragon Services, located in Phoenix, AZ, serving the valley, is seeking qualified candidates for the role of Assistant Chief Engineer with well-rounded technical skills and strong leadership abilities.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Universal refrigerant handler's license (EPA).
• Ability to pass drug screening and background check.
• Reliable vehicle with current registration, proof of insurance, and valid driver's license.
• At least 5 years of experience as a Building Engineer in commercial real estate.

Essential Responsibilities:

• HVAC troubleshooting and preventative maintenance (Heat Pump, WSHP, Fluid Cooler, Chiller, DX, EMS/BAS, etc.).
• Obtain and compare estimates for work by outside vendors to ensure competitive bidding.
• Electrical work: re-lamping, ballast replacement, breaker resets.
• Plumbing repairs, drain maintenance, restroom upkeep.
• Adjust doors and closers, repair T-bar ceilings, perform roof inspections and minor repairs.
• Maintain utility and storage rooms, respond to work orders, perform general labor, painting, facade repairs, and general R&M.
• Lead a team of Building Engineers/Maintenance technicians in daily operations.

Requirements:

Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED; 5 years related experience or training; trade certifications preferred.

Communication Skills: Ability to read instructions, emails, and correspondence; effectively present information to individuals and groups.

Physical Requirements: Ability to sit, walk, bend, reach, lift up to 50 pounds, work on ladders and rooftops.
