Job Title Assistant Chief Engineer Job Description Summary Responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems for the assigned property(s). Responsibilities include maintaining a safe and clean environment, conducting routine assessments, performing preventive and corrective maintenance, painting, and housekeeping. Key Responsibilities Supervise engineers and maintenance staff, including hiring and training. Manage operational accounts and assist in budget development. Oversee building systems such as fire/life safety, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical. Perform maintenance on HVAC systems, pumps, fans, and other mechanical equipment. Monitor and adjust building controls and equipment to ensure comfort and efficiency. Perform repairs and preventive maintenance following industry standards. Inspect critical equipment and ensure safety protocols are followed. Respond to emergencies and customer concerns promptly. Ensure compliance with all relevant codes and regulations. Complete safety training and maintain a professional appearance. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED; trade school or apprenticeship preferred. Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems management. Relevant licenses or permits, such as Journeyman or Master Electrician, are required. Valid driver's license and good driving record. Basic computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word). Experience with HVAC, boilers, pumps, and energy management systems. Work Environment & Physical Demands Office environment with travel between properties. Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs, climb, crouch, and reach as needed. Good communication skills required.
