Job Description Assistant Business System Analyst (part-time/28 hrs per week) The Assistant Business System Analyst supports the implementation, maintenance, and improvement of our research administration systems. This role provides technical and administrative support for system users, assists with data management, and contributes to documentation and testing efforts. BYU is constantly conducting world-changing research, and now you can be a part of all of it! Whether it's chemistry, engineering, archaeology, or any other area of study, you will help facilitate it. How will you do this? Glad you asked-because you love mining through data and identifying patterns/trends, you will help us identify bottlenecks in research progress, as well as identify leading researchers so they can be recognized, to name just a couple. What you'll do in this position: - Assist in documenting business processes and system workflows related to the RAO systems.
- Participate in system testing, including test case development and execution.
- Assist in preparing training materials, user guides, and system documentation.
- Assist with training users across campus to use the research systems.
- Support data entry, validation, and cleanup efforts across research systems.
- Provide first-level support to end users and escalate technical issues as needed.
- Contribute to the development of reports and dashboards under supervision.
What qualifies you for this role: Required: Bachelor's Degree OR equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience
Preferred: Cloud-based software administration experience and training experience
Skills, Abilities: - Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Basic understanding of databases, spreadsheets, and business systems.
- Comfortable presenting information clearly and confidently in group settings, including leading user training and demonstrations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel and Word).
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
