Responsible for assisting the Bakery Department Manager to present the freshest, most innovative, and best quality products at a competitive retail price to customers. Additionally, you will ensure a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient customer service to customers and team members.

Accountable and reports to: District Store Director, Store Manager, Assistant Managers of Perishables, Store Operations, and Health Wellness Home; Bakery Department Manager.

Primary duties and responsibilities include:
Secondary duties and responsibilities include assuming management duties in the absence of the Department Manager, ordering product and supplies as needed, filling in for absent employees for the production day, assisting in other areas of the store as needed, and performing other job-related duties and special projects as required.
Knowledge, skills, abilities, and worker characteristics include the ability to solve practical problems, interpret instructions, do arithmetic calculations, file, post, and mail materials, copy data from one record to another, interview to obtain basic information, and guide people and provide basic direction.
Education and experience include high school or equivalent experience and over one year up to three years of similar or related experience.
Supervisory responsibilities include instructing, assigning, reviewing, and planning work of others, maintaining standards, coordinating activities, and allocating personnel.
Physical requirements include the ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Visual requirements include vision from less than 20 inches and more than 20 feet with or without correction, color vision, depth perception, and field of vision. Must be able to perform the following physical activities: climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
Working conditions include daily exposure to noise, temperature extremes, dampness, vibrations, equipment movement hazards, and dangerous chemicals/solvents. There is weekly exposure to dirt and occasional exposure to electrical shock. This is a fast-paced work environment with significant pressure.
Equipment used to perform the job includes mixers, register, proof box, ovens, sheeter, rounder, pan washer, fryer, label machine, shrink wrap machine, RPM system, computer, and copy cake machine.
Financial responsibility includes being responsible for equipment in the department and customer accounts.
Contacts include daily contact with customers, suppliers/vendors, and the general public. Has occasional contact with federal/state governmental or regulatory agencies for inspections.
Has access to confidential information including ads, gross profit percentage, wages, sales, pricing, and employee information.
