Job Description: The Assistant Athletic Director, Game Day Operations & Facility Management is a central member of the Athletic Department's administration and will report directly to the College's Director of Athletics. The Assistant Athletic Director, Game Day Operations & Facility Management will promote co-curricular athletic activity that fosters skill development, sportsmanship, understanding of sports with appreciation of being a team member; and is committed to the College's philosophy, placing emphasis on education and valuable life skills for its student-athletes. This position is responsible for the operational planning and management of all aspects of NJCAA home competitions; supporting and managing the Intramural Sports and Intercollegiate Club Sports programs; assisting with department-wide special events; and, performing other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics. Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate and manage all aspects of NJCAA home competitions including logistics, game itineraries process, visiting team notifications, assignment and payment for game officials, and concessions and supplies.
- Ensure all NJCAA, NJCAA Region III, MSAC, OCC and other policy and procedures are met.
- Coordinate and serve as liaison with campus Facilities Department for all on-campus Athletic facilities' needs to include Lazer Stadium, Baseball and Softball Complex, SRC Arena, Allyn Hall Gym, Applied Exercise Room, Team Rooms and Locker Rooms.
- Reserve all spaces for practices, games, team meetings and other Department related requests through the 25 LIVE software application.
- Create a schedule for field snow removal, field grooming and routine Athletic facilities' maintenance and repairs and outdoor winterization.
- Manage and support the Intramural Sports program, while meeting both College needs and student requests. Create a student committee for intramurals to capture students requests and feedback.
- Hire and supervise hourly operational staff and including Federal Work Study students.
- Promote intramural sport offering and manage student registration portal.
- Assist with department fundraising and campus community events.
- Through partnership with area colleges and universities, identify and manage capstone students or interns for the Athletic Department's internship program.
- Manage all administrative tasks for Intercollegiate Club Sports program.
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
Requirements: Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from regionally accredited institution - or an associate's degree with 4 years of intercollegiate athletics experience
- Experience working in or participating in an intercollegiate athletic department
- Experience managing events, preferably game days and other athletic department events
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in education, sports management, business or a related field
- Knowledge of NJCAA and/or NCAA rules and regulations, and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)
- Supervisory experience
- Bilingual: English and another language will be considered
