The Department of Social Services (DSS) comprises the administrative units of the New York City Human Resources Administration (HRA) and the Department of Homeless Services (DHS). HRA aims to fight poverty and income inequality by providing essential benefits such as Food Assistance and Emergency Rental Assistance. DHS focuses on preventing and addressing homelessness through innovative strategies to help families and individuals exit shelter and regain self-sufficiency.

Information Technology Services (ITS) is DSS's technology organization. ITS supports the needs of both agencies by creating and improving infrastructure and applications, including client eligibility, recertification, case management, housing, employment services, revenue matching, claiming, and personnel systems.

ITS is recruiting for one (1) Principal Administrative Associate II, who will function as an Asset Management Support Associate, responsible for:

  • Affixing asset tags to trackable assets and recording them in the inventory system.
  • Updating inventory records based on agency requests for computer equipment and software.
  • Coordinating hardware lockdowns at DHS sites to ensure asset security.
  • Preparing paperwork and identifying hardware for relinquishment processes.
  • Coordinating pickups, deliveries, and distributions of IT equipment to ensure smooth operations.
  • Maintaining inventories of computer supplies such as keyboards, mice, and surge protectors to support daily activities.
  • Hours/Shift: Normal Business Hours

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Baccalaureate degree with three years of full-time, progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience, including one year in an administrative or supervisory role; or
    • Associate degree or 60 semester credits with four years of similar experience, including supervisory experience; or
    • High school diploma or equivalent with five years of similar experience, including supervisory experience; or
    • Equivalent education and/or experience, with at least one year of supervisory experience. Education credits can substitute for experience at a rate of 30 semester credits = 6 months of experience, up to 3.5 years.

    Preferred Skills:

    • Experience with Asset Management systems, especially ServiceNow, and knowledge of asset management methodologies.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

    Salary Range: $59,715.00 – $68,672.00
