Position Summary The Assessment Coordinator at Mount Aloysius College plays a vital role in fostering a culture of continuous improvement grounded in our Mission and Values. This position is responsible for planning, developing, implementing, and administering various academic, co-curricular, and administrative assessments in conjunction with relevant leadership. The Coordinator collaborates closely with faculty, staff, and administration to ensure the integrity and effectiveness of our programs, contributing to the holistic development of our students and the overall strength of the College. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact within the College community. Responsibilities Planning and Development: - Collaborate with faculty, staff, and administration to define outcomes that align with the College's Mission and goals. - Assist in the development or selection of assessment tools, rubrics, and scoring guidelines that are appropriate for our student population and programs. - Ensure the alignment of assessments with course objectives, program goals, and the College's institutional effectiveness plans. - Contribute to the design and piloting of innovative assessment methods that reflect our commitment to student success in current and future environments. Implementation and Administration: - Coordinate the scheduling, communication, and administration of various assessments, including course-embedded assessments, program-level evaluations, co-curricular learning outcomes, and administrative outcomes. - Provide guidance and support to faculty, staff, and administration on assessment procedures and best practices. - Assist with the administration of surveys and other data collection methods. Data Management and Analysis: - Manage the collection, organization, and initial analysis of assessment data. - Maintain accurate records of assessment results and provide data summaries to relevant stakeholders. - Assist faculty, staff, and administration in interpreting assessment data to inform curricular and co-curricular improvements. - Contribute to the preparation of reports for accreditation and other required program and institutional reporting. Quality Assurance and Integrity: - Uphold the integrity and security of all assessment processes and data, consistent with current policies, regulations, and ethical principles. - Work to ensure the validity and reliability of assessment methods. - Stay informed about best practices in assessment within higher education. Collaboration and Communication within the College Community: - Foster a collaborative and supportive environment for assessment activities across the College. - Serve as a resource for faculty, staff, and administration on assessment-related matters. - Communicate assessment plans, results, and recommendations to various constituencies. - Participate in College committees and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement. Mission Integration: - Work to ensure that assessment practices reflect and support the Mission of the College. - Collaborate with members of academic and administrative departments to assess the integration of Mission-related outcomes. Other Duties: - Assist with professional development opportunities related to assessment for faculty, staff, and administration. - Contribute to the ongoing development and refinement of the College's assessment policies and procedures. - Maintain and expand the College's Assessment website. - Teach up to 3 credits per semester. - Perform other duties as assigned to support the Mission and goals of the College. Qualifications -Completion of at least a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as data analytics, psychological science, social science, or educational administration, is required, with a Master's degree preferred. -Experience with assessment practices in higher education. -Understanding of learning outcomes assessment and its role in institutional effectiveness. -Familiarity with data collection, management, and basic data analysis. -Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills. -Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all stakeholders. -Commitment to the Mission and Values of the College. -Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion. -Experience with data gathering, management, analysis, and communication systems, including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, graphic presentation, Jenzabar, Canvas (learning management system), Navigate, Handshake, and SPSS (or similar software). -Familiarity with accreditation processes. -Experience in facilitating workshops or training sessions. This is a full-time, 12-month, benefit-eligible position. While some flexibility in scheduling and the opportunity for periodic remote days exists, this position is on campus in Cresson, PA, and is not eligible for remote work.
