Assessment Coordinator, Charlotte Lab School | 2024-25 Job Posting Date: August 5, 2025 Application Closing Date: Until Filled Hours: Internal Stipend Start Date: August 27, 2025 Contract End Date: June 10, 2026 Responsibilities The Charlotte Lab School Assessment Coordinator will have responsibilities in support of Lab's instructional vision:

  • Develop annual assessment calendars and testing plans for all required State and Federal testing.
  • Develop assessment calendars, testing plans and daily schedules for testing days for the NWEA MAP assessment administration 2-3x/year (K-8) and NC Check-ins (3x/year 3-8, 2x/semester 9-12).
  • Encourage a positive atmosphere for all test administrations.
  • Ensure compliance with all DPI and Testing & Accountability policies and procedures.
  • Assist the Instructional Leadership Team in analysis of student data and development of action plans aimed at the improvement of student achievement and increase in student performance growth.
  • Assist the Instructional Leadership Team in presentation of student performance data for Board, staff, family, and grant purposes.
  • Build a communications plan that ensures all staff, students, and families understand and are prepared for all test administrations.
  • Serve as a member of the School Performance Board Subcommittee.
The Charlotte Lab School Assessment Coordinator will have responsibilities in support of Lab's systems and operations vision:
  • Attend training sessions sponsored by the Head of Curriculum & Programs and/or state test coordinator on the policies and procedures for conducting a proper test administration and for reviewing and processing test materials.
  • Develop and document in writing a school-wide plan for administering tests under secure conditions. For each testing session, the plan must include documentation of the accommodations and the nature of the accommodations each eligible student will receive.
  • Train all school personnel on the appropriate use of test materials, test security, and the North Carolina Testing Code of Ethics, the Testing Students with Disabilities publication and published supplements (as appropriate), and the Guidelines for Testing Students identified as Multi Language Learners document and published supplements (as appropriate).
  • Implement the school system's testing policies and procedures and establish any needed school policies and procedures to ensure all eligible students are tested.
  • Monitor test administrations within the building and respond to situations that may arise during test administrations.
  • Assigning to test administrations trained proctors who are responsible adult community volunteers (i.e., age 18 or older and not enrolled as a student in the K-12 public school system), school staff, or school system staff.
  • Coordinate rosters for all internal and state testing sessions, ensuring students' testing accommodations; coordinator with EC Team, 504 Coordinators and MLL Coordinator to print Review of Accommodations forms (ROAs) and have testing administrators review and complete forms for every testing administration based on students' accommodations;
  • Coordinate storage of test materials in a secure, locked facility. (Access to the storage area must be limited to one or two authorized school personnel while secure materials are being stored. Unauthorized personnel (e.g., cleaning staff) must not have access to the facility where secure materials are stored).
  • Accurately count and distribute test materials required for the test administrations at the school before each test administration. Immediately after each test administration, collect, count, and return test materials to the secure, locked storage facility. (Select test administrators who are either school system or school personnel that have professional training in education and the state testing program (State Board of Education policy GCS-A-010).
  • Returning all test materials to the area test coordinator, as directed, immediately following the completion of the test administration.
  • Emphasize to all school personnel that no person may copy, reproduce, or paraphrase the test materials in any manner or for any reason without the written permission of the NCDPI.
  • Inform personnel that any person who learns of any breach of security, loss of test materials, failure to account for test materials, or any other deviation from required security procedures must immediately report that information to the Head of School/school test coordinator and state test coordinator.
  • Maintaining the confidentiality of individual student scores when reporting test results to the public and the media.
  • Use and follow all procedures in the Online Testing Irregularity Submission System (OTISS) to document and report all testing irregularities.
  • Cooperate with state officials in the event there is an audit or monitoring visit to ensure the testing plans are implemented appropriately.
  • Take on other responsibilities as needed, and as assigned, to ensure organizational success.
Qualifications Candidate MUST:
  • Be able/willing to learn how to fulfill the responsibilities listed above;
  • Hold a Bachelor's degree from a four year institution;
  • Hold an active role at Charlotte Lab School which includes 80% of responsibilities classified as out-of-classroom;
  • Demonstrate experience in, or passion for, teaching diverse populations.
In addition, the Lab School Leadership Team will look favorably upon candidates who: PREPARATION:
  • Have a least 2 years of full-time teaching/leading experience;
  • Have experience teaching relevant content area;
  • Have an advanced degree in a related field;
  • Can demonstrate strong student achievement results in relevant content area(s);

Compensation Compensation for this internal position can be expected to be a set stipend amount of $2000.00 (K-8, 9-12 each) for specific deliverables and assessment coordination across the span of the school year.
