Job DescriptionWe're seeking a versatile professional with experience in both manual machining and mechanical assembly. This dual-role position involves building custom automation components, from precision machining to hands-on equipment assembly and integration.
What You'll Do:- Operate manual machines (mill, lathe, grinder) to fabricate components to tight tolerances
- Assemble mechanical systems including frames, guarding, sub-assemblies, and motion mechanisms
- Work with a range of materials: steel, stainless, tool steel, plastics, aluminum extrusions, and polycarbonate
- Interpret part and assembly drawings with minimal oversight
- Perform setups, alignments, and adjustments during system build
- Use calipers, micrometers, and gauges for measurement and inspection
- Assist with material handling using forklifts or pallet jacks
- Contribute to a collaborative build process with engineers, techs, and fabricators
What You Bring:- 3-5 years machining experience (manual required, CNC a plus)
- 2-4 years mechanical assembly experience in an industrial setting
- Solid understanding of machine components
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and multitasking ability
- Ability to lift 75 lbs and work on your feet 8-10 hours a day
- Comfort in a fast-paced, team-oriented shop environment
- Working knowledge of pneumatics and mechanical systems preferred
