Assembly Operator I

Shift Schedule: This position will be working 3rd shift, Sunday night through Friday morning from 11 pm to 7 am. 3rd shift receives a 10% shift differential.

Job Requirements:

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Preparing machine for assembly process
  • Operate automatic and semi-automatic assembly machines
  • Load reels of strip terminals and housing onto assembly machines
  • Make fine adjustments to properly align mating parts in machine
  • Clear jams and inspect finished products
  • Prepare completed reels for transport to other areas within facility
  • Sets up, adjusts and operates assembly machines
  • Clears jams, makes adjustments and performs Initial Piece and Final inspections to assure continuous production of quality parts
  • Train and mentor new employees
Education / Experience:

Must have passed the Bennett Mechanical Aptitude test and must have taken the Mechanical Trades Math Test. Must successfully complete a print reading and precision measuring skills review by the supervisor. Must have minimum of 1 years' experience as an Assembly Operator I in UF Assembly to qualify. Must be able to use a microscope to inspect parts calipers, gages and perform visual inspection. High energy, self-motivated, attention to detail and willingness to learn and advance in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift and carry a maximum weight of 37 lbs. Must be able to push a peak force of 34.5 lbs. Must be able to pull a peak force of 39.5 lbs. Frequent standing throughout the day is required in this job.

What your background should look like: Entry level position, typically requiring little to no related work experience. Completion of high school or equivalent is usually required.

Compensation

Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $18.00 - $20.00 (subject to change dependent on physical location). Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
