One position on the 1st shift. Hours from 6:48 am to 3:18 pm.Summary: A successful Assembly Operator can safely and efficiently assemble products that meet all quality requirements. This is an hourly, non-exempt position and reports to the Group Leader. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Interpret work orders, engineering drawings, and specifications.
- Use parts list and retrieve all parts needed to assemble order.
- Fit and assemble parts into complete assembly, using jigs, fixtures, hand tools, and power tools.
- Verify dimensions and alignment of assembly, using measuring instruments, such as micrometers, calipers, and scales.
- Utilize sand blast and wash & dry equipment.
- Use the proper lifting method depending upon size and weight of the item to be assembled,
- Continually inspect products and processes throughout assembly.
- Inspect and test the final assembly to ensure it meets specifications.
- Crosstrain on plant machinery as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school Diploma or GED required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills including working with quality and production control.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Team player mentality.
- Basic crane and forklift experience.
- Assembly blueprint reading skills.
- Capable of understanding and following written and verbal work instructions.
- Understanding of BOM's (Bill Of Materials).
- Troubleshooting capabilities.
- Ability to inspect work and meet quality expectations.
- Ability to identify and share process improvement ideas, lean thinker.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is helpful.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods standing.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
