JOB SUMMARY Hours: Monday - Thursday 6 AM - 4:30 PM, OT as needed We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Assembly Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have excellent fine motor skills and be able to handle delicate tasks with care. They will be assembling large scale items with multiple components, similar to large scale Legos! If you're passionate about working with advanced technology and thrive in a hands-on, fast-paced environment, we want to hear from you! Supply quality outputs in a timely manner to other departments. Interact with other manufacturing departments, follow safe work practices and quality procedures. Learn correct procedures for: housekeeping, safety, machine/equipment use, department procedures, inspection, equipment maintenance, and processing department paperwork (i.e. prints and work orders). Key Responsibilities:
  • Assembly & Handling Small Parts: Use fine motor skills to assemble, position, and manipulate small components with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Electronic Devices & Machinery Operation: Operate, monitor, and adjust electronic devices and machinery as needed, ensuring optimal functionality and performance.
  • Quality Control: Inspect parts, machinery, and finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and are free of defects.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and address any issues with parts, devices, or equipment promptly, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Maintenance Support: Assist in routine maintenance of machines and devices to ensure smooth operation and extend the life of equipment.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of tasks, production processes, and any quality control checks. Report any discrepancies or issues to supervisors.
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES AND RESULTS
  • Manufacture of Products
    • Read and understand product requirements to produce quality parts through work orders, work instructions, and blueprints.
    • Utilize proper housekeeping procedures; keep the department clean and organized at all times.
    • Follow safe work practices (safety glasses, protective shoes, etc.)
    • Accurate use of measuring devices
    • Communicate improvement ideas and suggestions to team leaders or management regarding process, procedures, materials, environment, etc.
    • Follow directions given.
    • Properly use materials to maximize production.
    • Utilize good communication verbally and in writing to communicate with co-workers and management.
  • Quality Management
    • Utilize and comply with the Quality Management System
    • Self-inspect parts to ensure quality requirements and specs are met.
    • Ensure quality at the source by noticing and reporting defects in products or documentation, whether done by the operator or someone else
    • Follow proper NCR procedure when a non-conforming part is encountered.
  • Other Duties
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    • Demonstrates a high level of professionalism, discretion and confidentiality with all tasks, especially when dealing with visitors, vendors, and members of the public.

    • Mechanical aptitude
    • Ability to use hand and power tools

    • General computer skills or ability to learn
    • Prior manufacturing setting experience is preferred
    RELATIONSHIPSThis Position Reports to (provide class title, not person's name): Production Supervisor This position also takes work direction from Team Leader Supervises: (Title; FTE; # in position; note if providing work direction only) This position is not a supervisory role PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT This position will be required to stand for prolonged periods, perform repetitive actions that require utilization of hand and finger dexterity every day. Must be able to talk and hear. Visual acuity to read work instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts produced is required. This position requires the incumbent to frequently walk. The incumbent may occasionally be required to lift up to 30 pounds unassisted. Some positions may require or permit the use of a respirator and employees may be required to tolerate high heats or low temperatures. Some positions also require the exposure to strong paint smells or particles in air from sanding activities.
