Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, or Mathematics field, plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree.
- Clearance Requirements: Ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at the time of hire. Applicants will undergo a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. U.S. citizenship is required due to the nature of work performed within our facilities.
Responsibilities for this Position
General Dynamics Mission Systems has an opening for an ASIC FPGA Engineer in Bloomington, MN.
Duties and Tasks:
Define, design, verify, and document ASIC (Application Specific Integrated Circuit) and/or FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) developments.Determine architecture, system simulation, and detailed design approach.Define module interfaces and all aspects of device design and simulation.Evaluate process flow including high-level design, synthesis, place and route, timing, and power utilization.Create test and simulation plans that establish functional criteria.Verify test results and analyze performance.Review vendor capabilities, foundry technologies, device libraries, and simulation tools as needed.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficiency in ASIC/FPGA concepts, principles, and theories, with the ability to perform all responsibilities associated with the position.
- Ability to quickly grasp and apply new information.
- Capability to handle complex assignments and exercise independent judgment.
- Strong understanding of ASIC/FPGA engineering processes and awareness of technology trends.
- Familiarity with business objectives and the role of engineering in achieving them.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and ASIC/FPGA design tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Creativity, multi-tasking ability, and skill in communicating issues and corrective actions.
- Understanding of earned value, Cost Account Management (CAM), and Variance Report generation.
- Development experience with Microchip Polarfire FPGAs.
- Experience utilizing UVM (Universal Verification Methodology) for FPGA verification.
- Experience developing in SystemVerilog.

This estimate reflects the typical salary range based on experience and other factors such as location. Actual pay may vary. The position remains open until filled. Salary Range: USD $111,702.00 - USD $119,000.00 per year.
