Eurofins Built Environment Testing is seeking an experienced Asbestos and Mold Analyst in Burlingame, CA.

The Analyst primarily performs analysis of bulk samples using PLM for asbestos, and analysis of non-culturable surface and air samples for fungi. Responsibilities include preparing and analyzing environmental samples according to scientific methodology, ensuring compliance with company Quality Assurance programs and SOPs, validating and reviewing data for accuracy, and entering laboratory data into the LIMS system to generate client reports. The role requires knowledge of laboratory testing equipment, discretion, judgment, and the ability to schedule workload efficiently.

• Prepare and analyze aerobiological and environmental samples for asbestos and fungi.
• Accurately enter and report analytical data using the LIMS system.
• Perform independent data reviews and quality control analyses.
• Maintain client service standards and provide technical support.
• Assist in development and implementation of QA processes.
• Support laboratory accreditation efforts and maintain documentation.
• Manage project schedules and coordinate sample transfers.
• Train team members and participate in Lean initiatives.
• Maintain laboratory inventory and equipment, and dispose of samples properly.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Communicate capacity and support other departments as needed.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications:

• At least 1 year of experience with asbestos microscopy or spore trap/direct exam analysis.
• Bachelor's degree in microbiology, biology, geology, or related science.
• Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions.
• Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking).

Preferred Qualifications:

• 8 units of Microbiology courses.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements, computers, spreadsheets, and databases.
• Strong organizational and scientific skills.

This is a full-time position, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, with weekend coverage and overtime as needed.
