What you'll achieve

We are seeking a visionary and hands-on Architect to lead the design, evolution, and strategic direction of our Lab infrastructure, operations and services. This role requires deep subject matter expertise innetworking, security, enterprise architecture, and data systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background ininfrastructure development, withsoftware development experience & data center design (power and cooling), considered a significant plus.

This is a high-impact role that bridges current-state architecture with forward-looking innovation. You will be responsible for assessing existing systems, identifying opportunities for modernization, and guiding the implementation of scalable, secure, and efficient lab environments. You will serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, engineering teams, and external partners alike.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Leadership & Architecture

  • Architect and evolvelab infrastructure to support current and future business needs
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensurenetworking, security, and data architecturealign with enterprise standards
  • Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies to drive innovation and operational efficiency
  • Develop and maintainroadmapsfor lab services and infrastructure evolution
  • Ensure compliance withsecurity, regulatory, and operational standards
  • Drivecapacity planning, performance tuning, and disaster recoverystrategies
  • Consult on thedesign and optimizationof lab environments, including power, cooling, and physical layout

External Technology Radar & Industry Influence

  • Continuously scan and assess emerging technologies, frameworks, and ecosystem shifts relevant the Lab Services & Operations owned architectures
  • Build and maintain relationships with industry consortia, open-source communities, standards bodies, and technology partners
  • Represent the company at key industry forums, conferences, and thought leadership platforms
  • Provide strategic insights to senior leadership on technology evolution, risks, and opportunities

Executive Advisory & Roadmap Development

  • Partner with CTO, CISO, CIO, and engineering leadership to shape enterprise technology roadmaps and investment strategies
  • Translate future technology insights into actionable internal strategies and modernization initiatives
  • Evangelize a culture of secure-by-default development

Mentorship & Capability Building

  • Coach and mentor senior engineers, architects, and practitioners across the enterprise
  • Lead internal communities of practice and technical guilds
  • Foster a high-trust, collaborative culture that empowers teams to build securely at speed

Qualifications:

Required Experience:

  • 15+ yearsof experience in enterprise architecture, infrastructure architecture, data center operations, or related fields.
  • Proven expertise in:
    • Enterprise networking and security
    • Enterprise architecture frameworks
    • Data infrastructure and management
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability totranslate complex technical conceptsinto actionable strategies.
  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related field.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience inR&D or lab environmentssupporting hardware/software integration.
  • Data center design (power, cooling, layout)
  • Certifications such asTOGAF, CCNP/CCIE, CISSP, or equivalent.
  • Background inAI/ML infrastructure, high-performance computing, or edge computing is a plus.

Compensation: Dell is committed to Fair and Equitable compensation practices. The Base Salary Range for this role is $204,000 to $264,000
