Role: AR ManagerLocation: New York, NYSalary: $110,000 - $125,000 / AnnuallyA midtown real estate company is seeking a AR Manager to oversee the AR cycle and a team of 9.Responsibilities Include

  • Provide strong leadership to a team of 2 direct reports and an overall team of 9, by setting clear goals, expectations, and priorities. Motivate team members to achieve their full potential and foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Identify opportunities and training needs and implement effective solutions to enhance team efficiency, skills and knowledge. Provide coaching and mentorship to team members to help them grow and develop in their roles.
  • Facilitate open and transparent communication within the team and across departments. Keep team members informed of important updates, changes, and initiatives, and encourage feedback and suggestions for improvement.
  • Oversee all aspects of the Account Receivable cycle, including but not limited to rent billings, security deposits, move-ins, move-outs, and customer service billing matters.
  • Manage 2 direct reports and an overall team of 9 people across Yardi and MRI for residential and commercial units
  • Develop key internal business partner and external vendor relationships through effective communication and by exploring new services to enhance Beam effectively
  • Administer, enhance and automate various processes and controls over the receivable life cycle with reporting and information sharing to other functional areas as needed
  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert to represent the Accounts Receivable Team in cross functional projects, including on/offboarding portfolios, platform upgrades, and system conversions
  • Cross-train team members for a clear understanding of account receivable functions/systems via documented SOPs to create consistent, sustainable and repeatable processes
Experience Required
  • Seasoned professional in multifamily residential and commercial industry
  • 10 years of established work experience in Accounts Receivable with proven supervisory capacity
  • Advanced financial operations knowledge of real estate platforms, preferably MRI and/or Yardi
  • Demonstrated leadership to strengthen and grow the team and to develop, enhance, and implement receivable policies and procedures to improve / enhance the overall operations
  • Able to establish strong relationships with the ability to connect and build rapport with our residents, internal business partners, key external vendors, and team members
  • Experienced and proficient with Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.) with strong analytical ability to collect and use information to solve complex problems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with proven time management and organizational skills in a dynamic environment
  • Current hybrid work schedule with openness for expanding and shifting scope of responsibilities
  • Solid understanding of team dynamics and performance management principles.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Basic/Intermediate/Advanced Proficiency in [relevant software/tools/systems].
  • The ability to connect with others to keep the team aligned and focused.
  • Technical experience to lead large teams, internal and external, and earn their trust and respect for your competence.
  • The planning and financial acumen to be responsible for large projects with full responsibility for delivering those projects on time and on budget. Always be pushing for a return on investment, financial or otherwise, for all projects.
  • A proven track record of delivering projects, and results, is required. Prior leadership experience required. Experience building a team a plus. Doing any, or all of that, in a multi-family environment would be good too.
