Job Description

HealthFirst Bluegrass is seeking a dedicated Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (APRN) to join our Behavioral Health team. In this role, you will collaborate with our Wellness Center and primary care clinics to help patients reach their optimal level of health. You'll provide assessment, diagnosis, and medication management for individuals with psychiatric needs that go beyond primary care.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide psychiatric care according to HealthFirst Bluegrass protocols and standards of care
• Assess health history, including psychosocial and cultural factors
• Assist PCP teams in stabilizing patients on psychiatric medications, transitioning back to primary care when appropriate
• Educate and counsel patients
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary team members (therapists, BHC, case managers, dental, women's health, etc.)
• Respond to emergency medical situations within the facility
• Participate in peer review, quality improvement activities, and staff meetings
• Maintain accurate and confidential medical records in compliance with HIPAA, HITECH, and Part II regulations

Qualifications

• Completion of an approved Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner program and national certification
• One (1) year of experience required
• Licensed in Kentucky as a Registered Nurse and APRN with required national certification
• Current CPR certification
• Background check required
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and computer skills
• Ability to treat patients from diverse backgrounds and cultures
