Position Type: Facilities and Construction/Apprentice Date Posted: 5/5/2025 Location: Maintenance JOB TITLE: Apprentice Level 3-Dispatcher DUTY DAYS: 240 PAY GRADE: N06-9 STARTING SALARY: $ 150.34/DAY PRIMARY PURPOSE: Responsible for receiving and prioritizing tickets, dispatching technicians to routine and emergency maintenance issues using GPS tracking, entering parts in Incident IQ, and assisting with inventory management. This role ensures a timely response to service requests and smooth communication between technicians and management. QUALIFICATIONS: Certification/Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Must pass a criminal background check.
Special Knowledge/ Skills/Experience:
  • Strong communication skills and ability to stay calm under pressure.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well with peers and supervisors.
  • Ability to work without direct supervision.
  • Strong understanding of maintenance operations and terminology.
  • Previous dispatching experience preferred.
  • Two years of office experience preferred in a school district setting
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
  • Receive, review, and prioritize incoming tickets from campuses/departments.
  • Prioritize tickets, ensuring that urgent and critical issues are addressed promptly.
  • Enter parts and materials associated with the tickets into Incident IQ.
  • Provide updates and technical support to supervisors and technicians in the field as needed.
  • Coordinate delivery and tracking of parts needed for service calls.
  • Reviews tickets for accuracy and completion; ensures actual labor, action taken, and materials are entered.
  • Compiles information from a variety of sources and prepares reports.
  • Must be willing to respond to occasional after-hours emergencies.
  • Other duties as assigned.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Mental Demands: Ability to communicate effectively (verbal); maintain emotional control under stress; interpret policy, procedures, and data; coordinate district functions. Physical Demands/Environment Factors: Strenuous walking, standing, climbing, and heavy lifting, must have use of all faculties. Must be able to work from ladders and elevated platforms. Work outside. Exposure to hot and cold temperatures. Exposure to dust, toxic chemicals, and materials. May work on slippery and uneven surfaces.
