Want to help develop the next generation of web search to support intelligent assistant products? Join us! We are looking for a talented Applied Scientist to help us develop state-of-the-art, next generation web search capabilities within Amazon AGI.You will have an opportunity to directly impact the customer experience, design, architecture, and implementation of products that will be used every day by people you know. We're looking for someone passionate about innovating on behalf of customers, who demonstrates strong product ownership and is willing to think in new ways to solve difficult problems. You'll develop novel solutions to challenging technical problems, driving key improvements in our web search capabilities. You'll perform rigorous research, publishing papers in top IR conferences along the way.Key job responsibilities:Develop state-of-the-art web search technology, including training novel retrieval and ranking models, scaling models and optimizing performance, partnering with engineering to deploy and debug model performance in production, and building and scaling quality training data sets.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- 3+ years of building models for business application experience- PhD, or Master's degree and 4+ years of CS, CE, ML or related field experience- Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language- Experience in any of the following areas: algorithms and data structures, parsing, numerical optimization, data mining, parallel and distributed computing, high-performance computing
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Experience building machine learning models or developing algorithms for business application- Experience in state-of-the-art deep learning models architecture design and deep learning training and optimization and model pruning
