Job Purpose:

American Honda Motor is seeking an experienced Data Science leader to develop and manage solutions in AI, machine learning, and language models that enhance marketing and digital experiences. As an Applied Science Engineering Manager, you will manage projects, build software solutions, and lead your team while collaborating with business partners.

Key Accountabilities:

Lead and manage a team of applied scientists and ML engineers to deliver AI-based solutions.

Identify and prioritize AI/ML solutions with significant business value.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align AI solutions with business strategies.

Research and implement new methods to enhance AI capabilities.

Communicate research findings to leadership and stakeholders.

Develop end-to-end machine learning systems, including data analysis, model development, deployment, and monitoring.

Create evaluation frameworks and perform model evaluations.

Build ML pipelines with continuous training and validation.

Support customer-facing initiatives with machine learning models.

Design experiments and drive productization to deliver value.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills:

Master's degree in Computer Science or related quantitative field.

Minimum 10 years of software development experience in languages such as Python, Java, R, C++.

At least 3 years managing data scientists or ML engineers.

5+ years developing machine learning systems with experience in data preparation, training, validation, deployment, and automation.

Expertise in machine learning algorithms and large-scale data processing.

Ability to communicate complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.

Strong presentation and communication skills.

Working Conditions:

• Travel up to 5%
