Applications Engineer - ServiceNow Location: New York, NY (On-Site) One of our top AmLaw 100 global law firm clients is hiring an experienced Applications Engineer to support and enhance their enterprise ServiceNow platform, which serves as the global system of record for IT operations across the firm. This platform is critical to the firm's operations and supports a wide range of modules including Change Requests, Configuration Management (CMDB), Incidents, IT Asset Management, Knowledge Management System, Problems, and Service Requests. This is a hands-on, technical role focused on stability, security, development, and extension of the platform's capabilities. What You'll Do:
  • Lead administrative responsibilities tied to the ServiceNow platform, including upgrades, configuration changes, and ongoing support
  • Develop code enhancements following ServiceNow best practices
  • Assist in monitoring MID Servers to ensure uptime and accurate configuration
  • Provide day-to-day support of the ServiceNow platform and core capabilities
  • Work with ServiceNow administrators to design and build integrations using Integration Hub
  • Gather and document business requirements, write detailed user stories, and define acceptance criteria using Agile/Scrum methodologies
  • Ensure platform compliance with corporate Security Policy and ISO 27001/2 requirements
  • Install and maintain ServiceNow patches
  • Learn and apply firmwide ITSM processes (Change Requests, Incidents, Problems, etc.)
  • Support process compliance and governance
  • Develop dashboards and reporting for business stakeholders
Required Skills & Proficiencies:
  • Strong understanding of ServiceNow best practices in coding and workflows
  • Knowledge of ITIL and ITSM frameworks (preferred)
  • Deep knowledge of ServiceNow CMDB best practices, including:
    • Common Services Data Model (CSDM)
    • Discovery (Automated Horizontal Discovery)
    • Service Mapping (Automated Vertical Discovery)
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 4 years of experience with ITSM and ITOM modules
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in IT Operations working with various IT teams
  • Minimum 4 years of experience working on the ServiceNow platform
  • ServiceNow HAM Pro experience (preferred)
