Base pay range

$55.00/hr - $63.00/hr

We are actively seeking an Application Offensive Security Consultant with expertise in application security testing, red teaming, and penetration testing. This role involves offensive security assessments, manual security testing of applications and APIs, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to strengthen application defenses.Key Responsibilities

• Conduct offensive security testing against applications and APIs to identify vulnerabilities.
• Perform application threat hunting to evaluate risks and weaknesses in web applications.
• Execute manual security testing of applications, identifying OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities.
• Utilize Burp Suite and OWASP Zap for application penetration testing and risk assessment.
• Document vulnerabilities and generate detailed reports for remediation planning.
• Collaborate with Security Architects, Product Managers, and Risk Managers to enhance application defenses.
• Provide subject matter expertise and respond to queries regarding Application Defense enhancements.
• Ensure compliance with application security best practices and regulatory requirements.
• Engage in Capture the Flag (CTF) challenges and maintain current knowledge of MITRE Framework and adversarial methodologies.
• Contribute to the education of Business and Development teams on offensive security methodologies.

Must-Have Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in application security testing.
• 4+ years of hands-on experience with Burp Suite and OWASP Zap.
• Proven ability to perform manual security testing of applications without relying solely on automated scanners.
• Deep understanding of MITRE Framework and adversarial methodologies.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or equivalent experience.
• Experience in generating assessment reports and facilitating remediation planning.
• Strong understanding of Application Defense enhancements.
• Ability to think outside the box and manually discover vulnerabilities.
• Ability to work onsite in Jersey City, NJ with hybrid flexibility.

Preferred Experience

• Offensive Security or Penetration Testing Certifications.
• Completion of penetration testing and red teaming courses.
• Passion for Capture the Flags (CTFs) and training platforms like TryHackMe, HackTheBox.
• Familiarity with DevSecOps practices for automated application defense.
