Job Overview:
Scope of Practice: Participates in review of donor card and laboratory test result audits. Reviews donor cards & laboratory test results for completeness and accuracy of information. Interprets possible errors that could cause product discard and refers to appropriate supervisor for correction or final disposition decision. Performs data input into the BCIS (Blood Services Information System) and verifies information in database. Maintains confidential blood services files and distribution records.
Generates and maintains other departmental reports and records as needed as they relate to product release and donor test results. Responsible for blood services standard procedure manuals, forms and the distribution of new procedures and/or forms in a timely manner. Performs blood product processing, labeling, and distribution. Provides administrative clerical support as necessary to the laboratory, collection, Quality Systems and administrative functions of the Blood Services.
