APEX Developer - Abacus : Job Details

Brief Description of Job Duties : This position will be responsible for the maintenance and support of the KDADS IT developed APEX applications. It will also participate in the development and design of new or modified application software.

General Duties :

• Work with help desk to maintain current applications.
• Work with users to develop enhancements and new applications.

Specific Duties : Define, plan, and lead projects. Work independently as a senior technical consultant supporting KDADS business applications. Perform technical work aligned with the agency's strategic IT direction. Collaborate with agency staff to identify resources and coordinate involvement by managers, stakeholders, and users. Document system additions or changes to meet project objectives and quality standards. Allocate resources to complete IT projects within schedule, produce management reports, and present project updates. Develop requirements and specifications to meet project goals. Establish methodologies or plans to ensure quality results. Conduct or document quality reviews for compliance. Review work for completeness, efficiency, and accuracy before deployment. Define, document, and develop complex systems, ensuring conformity to architecture and standards. Design data structures and manipulation processes to support application development. Write custom code for business applications using Oracle PL/SQL, SQL, XML, DHTML, APEX, and JavaScript. Create and update user interfaces for data entry and reporting. Integrate third-party tools as needed. Modify existing code and data structures for error correction or business changes. Develop and perform testing and documentation for new or modified code. Review work periodically and upon project completion. Develop and maintain procedures and training materials. Manage data conversions and system testing. Conduct training and assess impacts of changes. Manage software releases and documentation updates. Provide user support and resolve issues. Track queries and report incidents. Store and manage data according to policies. Complete special projects and assist during emergencies or disasters. Support other team members as needed.

Skills required :

• Proficiency in Oracle APEX, PL/SQL, SQL, HTML, XML.
• Ability to collaborate with users and analysts to create specifications and documentation.

Knowledge of and ability to utilize products like PEX, TOAD, Oracle.

Experience required :

• At least three years' experience coding, testing, and debugging APEX applications.

Education required :

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, plus two years' experience in information systems analysis with APEX.
• Alternatively, three years' experience in information systems analysis with APEX may substitute for education as deemed relevant by the agency.

Physical requirements :
