ANTICIPATED OPENING: Special Education Accounting Clerk West Springfield Public Schools Position Summary: West Springfield Public Schools is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Special Education Accounting Clerk to support the Special Education department in managing its financial and administrative operations. Key Responsibilities: - Maintain and update all financial records related to the Special Education department. - Prepare and submit the Special Education School Choice report. - Coordinate and process tuition payments for out-of-district placements. - Prepare and process departmental requisitions and purchase orders. - Compile and submit weekly timesheets for Special Education staff. - Provide administrative support and collaborate with other clerks in the Special Education department. - Assist with special projects and perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Special Education, Chief of Finance & Operations, and Superintendent. Qualifications: - 3-5 years of relevant financial or administrative experience preferred. - Proficient in Microsoft Excel; strong bookkeeping and data management skills required. - Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. - Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively with school staff, other municipal departments, and the general public. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Typing proficiency and general computer literacy required. Alternative qualifications may be considered at the discretion of the Director of Special Education.
