We are a non-profit 501c3 Animal Rescue Organization dedicated to rescuing companion animals from city and county animal shelters and placing them into loving homes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day shelter operations, including animal intake, care, adoptions, and facility upkeep
• Supervise and support a team of staff and volunteers
• Develop and enforce policies to ensure animal welfare and safety
• Oversee veterinary care coordination and maintain health records
• Coordinate rescue efforts, foster programs, and community outreach
• Assist in fundraising, grant writing, and donor relations
• Monitor budgets, supplies, and operational efficiency
• Ensure compliance with local and state animal welfare regulations

Qualifications:

• Proven leadership or management experience (nonprofit or animal welfare preferred)
• Passion for animal rescue and welfare
• Strong communication, organizational, and decision-making skills
• Ability to manage conflict, prioritize tasks, and work under pressure
• Experience working with animals in a shelter, rescue, or veterinary setting is a plus
• Proficiency with basic computer systems and shelter management software (preferred)

Animal Care

• Monitor health of pets and make vet appointments.
• Transport animals to veterinary hospitals.
• Pick up animals from local city and county shelters.
• Be able to recognize when an animal is not feeling well.
• Administer injectable, topical, and oral medications to animals.
• Able to read cat/dog body language (meeting other animals, children, etc.)
• Knowledge about pets and how they adapt to new environments.

EXPERIENCE AND LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS

• 2 years working with animals preferred
• 2 years managerial experience

TIME COMMITMENT

• Full-time with an average of 40 hours per week, including weekend and holiday work.

BENEFITS

• Full-time employees are eligible for insurance benefits after 60 days.
• 10 days paid vacation plus 6 paid sick days accrued within the first year of employment.

Salary varies on level of education and experience.
