Animal Handler - City of Albuquerque New Mexico : Job Details

Humanely receive, inspect, feed, clean and care for animals housed at the City shelters; prepare and handle animals for impoundment; assist the general public and rescue groups in viewing and selecting adoptable animals; answer questions regarding City ordinances and regulations; assist in the safe and humane handling of animals during euthanasia procedures and perform a variety of tasks relative to the assigned area of responsibility. This is a safety sensitive position subject to random drug/alcohol testing. . . Minimum Education, Experience And Additional Requirements Education directly related to the minimum requirements below may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. High School diploma or GED or successful completion of two (2) Work. Keys Skills Assessments (listed below); and. Two (2) years of animal care experience.
