Cardiac Anesthesiology Locums Job in Iowa Full Time Ongoing Beginning in October AssignmentCoverage Needed:October 13th weekOctober 20th weekNovember 24th weekJuly 28 - August 1August 11 - August 15August 18 - August 22September 1 - September 5December 22 - January 2Shift Description:Monday, Wednesday, Friday (6:30am - 3pm); Tuesday & Thursday (7am - 3:30pm)Physician will stay later if help is needed in non-cardiac cases or the cardiac case is not finished.Requirements:Board Certified in Cardiac Anesthesiology - preferred (will also consider Board Eligible)Active Iowa license or IMLC - required (must upload copy of LOQ at time of name clear)TEE Certified (must be able to read, interpret, and bill TEE procedures - NOT just the placement of the probe)- RequiredCardiac Fellowship - preferred (extensive experience would be acceptable if TEE certified)BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications - requiredCovid Vaccinated - requiredMust be available on the dates needed coverageAssignment Details:Trauma level: IIPractice setting: hospital based. On rare occasions may need to oversee CRNAs at the ASC if no cardiac cases are scheduled and a physician is needed at the ASC locationEMR: Cerner (moving to EPIC, some paper)Average number of surgical cases per day: cardiac surgeries - 1/day, but not every day; 5-7 general cases/day. Must help cover general if no cardiac casesNumber of Anesthesiologists in practice: 6Patient age demographics: Adolescent, Child, Adult, GeriatricNumber of operating rooms: 8 in use at one timeCannot accept visa candidatesEstimated credentialing: 8-12 weeksPredominantly solo cases, but there are CRNA students rotating through (physician needs to be okay with students in the operating room with them)
