Analog Design Engineer - Cohu : Job Details

This position is for a hardware design engineer reporting into the Analog product development group. The successful candidate will work in teams to develop analog technology for PCB instrumentation in many design areas, including: precision measurement, analog and digital control systems, signal sourcing, and DSP functions. A strong grasp of DC circuit analysis is essential. Familiarity with PC Board development and calibration of precision analog instrumentation is a plus. Good understanding of quality audio design is also advantageous. System-level troubleshooting skills, along with excellent communication and organizational skills, are mandatory. Experience within the Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) industry is a definite plus.

Qualifications:

• Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) preferred; Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) with additional experience is acceptable.
• Preferred 1 year experience with MSEE, 2 years with BSEE. (co-op experience accepted)
• Strong detailed knowledge of DC circuits and control systems.
• Ability to understand and create hardware block diagrams and schematics.
• Ability to understand engineering, manufacturing, and customer requirements.
• Problem-solving and debugging skills with the ability to solve system-wide problems.
• Ability to quickly learn the ATE programming environment.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Proven ability to develop quality deliverables on time.
• Ability to collaborate with software, hardware, applications, and operations engineering staff to bring-up new hardware designs and diagnose chip and board problems.
• Ability to adapt in a rapidly changing environment.
