Job Summary

Assists in coordinating and monitoring the daily operations for assigned areas for Ambulatory Services. Ensures functions and activities performed are within department and Queen's North Hawaii Community Hospital's (QNHCH) policies and procedures, and operations meet quality standards and established organizational goals and objectives. Performs administrative support activities for the Director.

Typical Physical Demands

Essential Functions: Seeing, hearing, speaking, finger dexterity. Manual Material Handling: Occasional lifting waist to shoulder between 0-5 lbs, carrying between 0-5 lbs, standing, stooping/bending, reaching shoulder level, reaching above head, walking, gripping, sitting. Non-Manual Material Handling: Occasional standing, stooping/bending, reaching, walking, gripping.

Typical Working Conditions

Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions. May be exposed to infectious and contagious diseases.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: High School diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree required, preferably in business; or two (2) years progressively responsible administrative experience may be substituted for educational requirement. Certification and Licensure: No certification and/or licensure requirement. Experience: In addition to education requirement, two (2) years of experience in patient registration, admitting, medical insurance and/or billing preferably in a physician practice, clinic, medical insurance or health care agency. Prior experience and proficiency in use of hospital and/or ambulatory information systems required, preferably EPIC. Experience to demonstrate: Ability to use a computer with MS Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel). Ability to communicate in English effectively, both verbal and in writing with a broad range of people. Ability to provide excellent customer service. Knowledge of medical terminology. Leadership and/or supervisory experience preferred. Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding preferred. Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Vet
