The Ambassador serves 15 hours or less each week in a defined area by engaging, equipping and empowering coaches and athletes to fulfill the FCA Vision, pursue the FCA Mission and live the FCA Values. In the FCA Sports Environment(s), the Ambassador implements a consistent approach to discipleship -- making disciples who make disciples. The Ambassador is accountable for ensuring that the FCA ministry is conducted according to biblical standards and adheres to FCA policies and procedures. MINISTERIAL DUTIES These responsibilities are critical to the FCA mission and this position plays a vital role in our ministry. FCA expects all functions and responsibilities outlined below to be carried out with a heart surrendered to serving God as a form of worship.

  • Agree with, and abide by, FCA's Christian Community Statement.
  • Follow a spiritual rhythm including daily prayer and Bible study to seek the Lord's will for FCA.
  • Lead, conduct and provide spiritual leadership for staff, volunteers, coaches and athletes through prayer, Bible study, worship and living by example so they are equipped to serve others.
  • Connect to and participate in a local church through worship and weekly involvement.
  • Conduct yourself in a manner that affirms biblical standards of conduct in accordance with FCA's Christian beliefs (see FCA's Christian Community Statement) at all times.
MINISTRY ADVANCEMENT
  • Engage, equip, and empower coaches, athletes and volunteers by ministering through 1-on-1s, Huddles and Events.
  • Work alongside the supervisor to train and equip volunteers to empower coaches and athletes to be disciples who make disciples.
TALENT ADVANCEMENT
  • Work alongside the supervisor to recruit, train and develop a diverse group of volunteers in assigned Sports Environment(s) with the purpose of leading every coach and athlete into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and His church.
DONOR ADVANCEMENT
  • Supervisor may ask to engage in support raising by connecting, communicating and caring for donors with appropriate training.
INTERNATIONAL ADVANCEMENT
  • Work alongside supervisor to serve the aligned International Region by praying, giving, and going.
This Ambassador will specifically work with the FCA Upstate Lacrosse Club and be based in Rochester, NY. The FCA Upstate Lacrosse Club is a competitive youth lacrosse program based in Upstate NY with girls teams from sixth grade through eleventh grade. FCA Upstate Lacrosse is currently seeking youth competitive lacrosse coaches to join our outstanding team of coaches. We are looking for excellent coaches that are passionate about developing youth lacrosse players and will be excited to engage, equip and empower student-athletes. The Coach will work closely with the Girls Director to technically, tactically, physically and spiritually develop players. He or she must possess a strong emphasis on developing individual technical skills while coaching in a 360 Coaching model (fcacoachesacademy.com). He/she should possess strong interpersonal and public speaking skills and be able to resolve conflict in a professional manner. He or she must also have strong written and oral communication skills. This position requires a non-traditional work schedule of daytime hours, evenings and some weekends. The coach will perform the following essential coaching and administrative duties that include, but are not limited to: Coaching duties include:
  • Responsible for organizing and running team practices.
  • Must be able to run a high intensity practice while keeping participants engaged.
  • Communicate with parents on a regular basis as we view the parents as our partner in player development.
  • Work with Girls Director on designing and implementing daily training activities.
  • Other duties as assigned or required by the Girls Director
  • Responsible for retaining current players while also continuing to build player pools.
Administrative duties:
  • Directly responsible for working with Girls Director on player development.
  • Proper communication with parents and fellow staffers.
  • Maintain positive relationships and open communication with FCA Upstate Lacrosse staff and other coaches.
Qualifications:
  • 1-3 years coaching experience
  • Strong Leadership skills
  • Self-Motivated
  • Excellent communication skills
