Alumni Relations Manager

The Alumni Relations Manager is responsible for assisting the Associate Director of Development for Alumni & Community Engagement with the strategic and tactical execution of the school's goals toward maintaining an engaged and loyal base of alumni, parents of alumni, and grandparents. This is a full-time, 12-month, non-exempt hourly position reporting directly to the Associate Director of Development for Alumni & Community Engagement, and works collaboratively with the Development and Alumni Relations team under the general supervision of the Director of Development. This role is expected to participate in many local alumni events, as well as some school-wide events and professional development opportunities. This position may be eligible for travel and overtime compensation.

Primary Responsibilities

Alumni & Community Engagement

  • Collaborate with and assist the Associate Director in managing and advancing Nueva's alumni, parents of alumni, and grandparent relations program
  • Identify strategies to strengthen the alumni community's connection to Nueva through events, volunteering, and participation in school-sponsored activities
  • Create volunteer manual and annual calendar, overseeing quarterly volunteer check-in

Platform and Database Management

  • Oversee the health and growth of MavNet, Nueva's dedicated alumni networking directory hosted by Almabase
  • Manage platform operations including data and records management in partnership with the Manager of Database and Reporting
  • Build annual calendar and event forms, update news and photo portals
  • Oversee job and internship board, actively recruiting opportunities from alumni community
  • Build alumni class and regional groups
  • Manage alumni metrics dashboard following CASE Alumni Engagement Metrics standards

Event Planning and Execution

  • Lead Nueva's upcoming 60th anniversary planning and events calendar
  • Support planning and execution of 15+ local, regional, and reunion events
  • Travel to several events as required
  • Manage Nueva Nosh program, overseeing alumni submissions and reimbursement

Communications and Content

  • Draft monthly alumni newsletter and web news stories
  • Assist with biannual Nueva Magazine alumni section
  • Manage alumni archives and develop a long-term system for archived material

Additional Duties

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Associate Director of Development for Alumni & Community Engagement

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of development, alumni relations, and/or community engagement experience
  • Experience with development CRM databases required; Almasbase, Blackbaud Raiser's Edge and NXT preferred
  • Interest in independent school communities and culture
  • Excellent understanding of Google Suite, Canva, Doodle, Calendly, and other calendaring, tracking, and design software tool
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple responsibilities simultaneously
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
  • Genuine interest and comfort interacting with diverse stakeholders including trustees, colleagues, parents, students, alumni, donors, partners, vendors, and volunteers
  • Willingness to engage in professional development and remain current on best practices
  • Personable, positive, helpful personality with a customer service mindset
  • Good judgment with ability to be discreet and maintain confidentiality

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly wage range for this position is $40.00/hour - $50.00/hour. The starting hourly rate is based upon, but not limited to, several factors that include type and years of experience, education level, and expertise.We offer a compensation and benefits package that includes fully paid medical, dental, vision, life insurance for employees, employer contribution toward dependent insurance premium, a generous match on our retirement plan, long-term disability insurance, flexible spending account, and free lunch.
