Job DescriptionCapital Region Airport CommissionOperations SupervisorFull Time OP-065-005 Posting # 1389Richmond International AirportPay Range: $53,821.66 - $61,863.92About Us: Established in 1975 by an act of the Virginia General Assembly, the Capital Region Airport Commission owns and operates Richmond International Airport (RIC). The Commission directs the growth, operation and business activities of RIC and works tirelessly to ensure it continues to be an affordable option for local, regional, and out-of-state travelers. Description of Responsibilities: Plans, assigns, and reviews the work of airport operations staff engaged in monitoring airfield, airside, landside, terminal operations, security, safety, and other activities related to the welfare of passengers, airlines, tenants, and the general public. Patrols and performs inspections of landside, airside, and terminal facilities to ensure safety, security and operational efficiency of the Airport. Inspect runways, taxiways, aircraft parking aprons, and fuel facilities for hazards; coordinates with appropriate parties for corrective actions. Required Experience:
  • Knowledge of basic aviation management to assist in the operation of a commercial airport at a level normally acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree in airport aviation management, public administration, business administration, or related field.
  • Must possess three to five (3-5) years of relevant experience in airport operations or equivalent with at least one (1) year of supervisory experience.
Required Skills and Special Requirements:
  • Ability to prepare effective and concise reports.
  • Ability to analyze situations quickly and determine the proper course of action.
  • Must be ASOS Basic and Advanced, or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment. Must have ICS 100 and 200 completed within 6 months of employment. Must complete the OSHA 10-hour course withing 6 months of employment. Must obtain and maintain movement and non-movement driver certification. Must complete the ACI-NA Airport Customer Experience Specialist Program within 24 months. Must complete the ACI Certificate in Team Leadership within 24 months.
